I have an 02 Sport Trac and I am hearing a scrapping noise when I drive from the rear wheels. Breaking does not affect this. Turning can enhance the sound but this can also be heard while driving in a straight line. Here is the kicker, I replaced both wheel bearing last weekend. HELP!

Parking brake retention hardware is pretty finicky sometimes. I bet a spring slipped and a brake shoe or spring is rubbing.

I thought about that and I engaged the parking break lightly while driving and rubbing did not go away.

The 2002 ST had drum rear brakes, so the brake and parking brake are the same parts. I'd still pull the drums and make sure there's nothing going on in there. If not brake related it might be a bad rear wheel bearing.
