Scratchn' the Turdles Belly

I am using red for the torque plate and front diffy cover-
my shocks are red-

Red endlinks and control arms oin rear-
but yes, lots of smoked chrome also--

so?

If everything is red and black chrome, the choice is obvious... Robin's Egg Blue!

Progress as of right now.
Front and rear axle housings will be flat black.

I have to stop to do a chip wheel repair now-but I will be right back at this.

wow took header off for that? Sorry man I missed it
You PC'd the torsion keys? LOL hell yes can the whole truck fit in the oven yet?
How about a BII?

It's all good --I had a leaky gasket anyway. Fixed it.

with what?

I vote ditch those shock boots, all they do is collect dirt and water and rust your shocks

x2 -- the shock boots make things worse, especially on a bottom-down (shaft-up) mounted shock.

like it very much man! Its going to be awesome! What you need is like 30" of lift so you can show all of it off!

We are just super picky thats all, I wanted to know what gaskets you use on the header... copper is working well on my BII, I took the explorer 4x4ing and opened up a HUGE leak, I am not even driving it because the exhaust sounds like no headers at all... tick tick tick tick

Looking Good  Its definitely a labor of love.. Once you start cleaning, sandblasting, and powder coating one part the un-restored parts don't do it justice.. You are then drawn ever further into doing a complete tear down and restoration (I've been there before ;)).. Lots of work, time, work, and did I same time? In the end you will proud of what you have accomplished.

Hey JT - Looks real good. Yes, that's a lot a work but it's gonna look good when your done.

With tear in my eye, I say goodbye to some old friends, as techieman33 rolls away on my old Cobra's,

However-I am looking forward to the times these will bring--

The wheels are stock Mounty wheels, powder coated in smoked chrome-
center caps were cleaned and polished real good, then powder coated with transparent black. The mercury emblems are still chrome. it is rainy today-but in the sun the wheels should pop--

I know-I need to clean up the new Goodyear silent armor 31x10.50's

Ha looks like another person got bit by the Goodyear Silent Armor bug. Trust me jtsmith you will Love them. I have been rolling on them since January and they hold strong to their name and expectations.

Whew, I had to read that post twice. I thought you said, "With tear in my eye, I say goodbye yo some old friends, as techieman33 rolls away IN my old Cobra."

I was going to drive to Kansas and slap you for selling it, but luckily, I read it again... so you're safe. Everything is looking good Jon. I never get tired of seeing what you do next.

The parts all look great, and do you have a closer picture of the center caps, hint?

I'd like to see closeups of the centercaps as well. Mine have a fair amount of corrosion.

Well ok then--
keep in mind-this took me about 1 hour for all 4, and they are used. I was kind of hurrying the deal just to see if the plastic would take the heat--

However-I like them just fine--
