AL said that this coil immediately smoothed out his idle...I keep hearing from everyone that the FORD coils deliver MORE than adequate spark...is this coil, then, worth the $100???

I have an MSD pack on my 5.0. It may or may not have done much and what it did do was probably psychological. That being said, no regrets doing the upgrade.

also remember that the Screamin' Demon also runs a different firing oder too which in turn is smoothing out the idle i believe.

Not really, the early versions were different, and instructions didn't come with those. The connector was different ion those also, vertical instead of horizontal. That's what I read of them, I have one that was no trouble, direct bolt on.

so there is no point pretty much upgrading the coil from stock to msd/ screamin demon?? i have the 98 5.0

I have the Accel EDIS coil running Ford Racing Spark plug wires with Motorcraft plugs gaped to 0.65 inch. I can feel the power difference over stock with an increase of 2 MPG. Yes, I think it's worth it if you have the money.
