I have posted one other post, but I recently got stuck in the front passenger seat while teaching my daughter how to drive. We got home and I could not get the seatbelt unbuckled. Since I was stuck, I ended up cutting the belt.

Now, I need to replace it and wasn't sure where to get the parts. I know I could get one at the dealer, but they wanted $300, and while that seems high, I think I would prefer a new one, not from a junk yard. Safety issues.

It is a 1997 explorer AWD with the 5.0l engine.

you might try a site like fastpartsnetwork.com they sell ford oem parts at a discount. Is it the belt, or the latch that was the problem?

edit: I don't see one listed on their site, but if you send them an email they could probably get it for you sales@fastpartsnetwork.com

It was the latch I think. I wanted to just replace the whole thing. Latch that bolts on the left side of the seat, plus the belt. Thanks for the website, will check it out.

The springs in the latches tend to go bad and weird things happen...

But I love your screen name. Very choice, if you own a Saab...
