Well, I am going to buy the YJ leafs from Tom.. and probably get them next friday. I'm ordering my front perches from TT fab.. and they won't be able to ship until Thursday. So this week I will try and get the steering box, brake lines, some DOM, and other stuff. I still need to get the 5x5.5 conversion stuff. Anyone have some laying around?! :D

So it looks like it will be at least two weekends from now. Plus, I am in the middle of trying to finish my garage. So hopefully two weekends from now.

I'll check it out. Thanks Caleb.

I'm gonna try to keep it down to 35's.

Should be a nice build. Even though you shouldn't go with leaf springs. :p (before anyone flames me, notice the :p) :D

C'mon! :D I'll change it down the road if I feel it's warranted.

You first genners have it so easy to go coils. It's not fair. :)

Okay... I know it's hardly a head start. But it's my excuse. :D

I have seen leaves flex really well though in the front....keep us updated
BTW: the leaf SAS is getting more and More popular because of it's "low" cost and "ease" to build up.

Consider this - most of the Toyota Pickup/tacoma/4Runner IFS to SAS conversions are leaf based.

So there must be something right going on there..

Hell people convert the rear of the 4runners from coils to leafs :D

Pretty sad when i know just as much on how to SAS a 4runner as explorers... and ive never owned a 4runner, just did tons of research on them

This is the pile of leaf springs Section's father is going to pickup.

I also am sending 3 used 14" travel Procomp MX6 shocks - I used them on the back of the zuk, but I do not need them anymore.

The set farthest to the left has a 1.5" add-a-leaf in it, and is made up with 6 leafs. There is 4 leaf and 5 leaf packs, only been used on a YJ, and then some already disassembled.

:D

Back in the days of you trying to get that Explorer, then the 4 Runner, then that Bronco, then the Yukon, then the Suburban, and then that Explorer, then...:p

My build up thread has all the parts I used to get the 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern as well as steering. Just leave the snap ring off the end of the axleshaft and it goes right together.

just get the right stub shafts and then you will be able to use the snap ring

Just stick a bolt in the end of the stub with a body washer and it will work better than a snap ring. :)

Wow.. how many axles are you putting under the front of that thing? That's a lot of springs.. I don't think YJ's are THAT soft to need that many. :D
Leaf springs are fine. Heck I see plenty of folks switching TJs to leaf setups. YJ packs are flexy so you should have no problem there.

I will have all the 5 on 5.5 junk off a 78-79 ford dana 44 here in the next couple weeks. We are converting it to 8 lug.
PM what your willing to pay for everything and I will not list it on Ebay.

Rotors (used)
Calipers (used)
Brake Pads (used)
Bearings (used)
All misc chit that is in the hub/bearing area (used)
Spindle, etc.

Got some things done today. B2Dude (Phil) came over and gave me the axle tear-down lesson.

Plus, we went to the JY and picked up a steering box.

I'll get some pics later. :p
