I think you are all attempting to overdo this shock thing. Just a simple hoop (no triangulation) or F-150 type tower will work fine. You just have to find where you can mount the shock and clear the steering box and figure out how high it will need to mount to provide you full up and down travel

thank you Jefe :)

I actually brought home some F250 towers from the local 4x shop to see what they'll do for me. :D

That, and a stock V6 driveshaft which fits perfect after the SOA.

section go flex that rear axle all the way with that stick d shaft, it may not have enough slip yoke in it, or it might....opinions vary, some trucks dont need a new shaft, some seem to.

(hand raised) Right here!

Is there a differance in length in the V8 and V6 shaft?

yes the v8 drivetrain is a bit longer I believe, plus Section has a different T case I believe....

Section,
If those don't work out for you i've got some shock mounts that you might be able to use. They are off of an F-450, made of cast steel but are a single shear design as opposed to the double shear style like the F-250 ones. They are also slimmer so they might fit better in places where the F-250's won't. These shock mounts are the same height as the F-250's.
I ran these for around 2 yrs with 7100 Bilsteins and never had a problem with them. I have a pic of them here:

It's the first pic in the first post of my SAS thread.

Not a sale, I got a quote, and they were normal price :(

Ahah oh. Well at least you guys are close to PolyPerformance. I'm trying to get 16" travel Fox 2.5 air shocks from PIG, shipping is going to be a killer. I'm thinking maybe my brother can bring it here to the east coast since he's flying from CA to MD in a few days, but then again, what would airport security say about those shocks

..and I already asked stuc-o what they quoted him. So really this is an A and B conversation. You're about a V.

Well I'm working my way up, soon I"ll be between A and B, whatever letter that is.

If you can transport firearms in your checked luggage, I'm sure shocks will be fine. :D

Just no road flares in your carry-on! :p Ooops.

I sorta held them up to where they would roughly go. Looks like they should work fine. Tomorrow will be the day.. maybe. :p But thanks DB!

Amazing, well I sent him a PM, hopefully he replies soon cauz I dont really want to do shock measurements until i get these *******s and my brother departs from CA on Sunday.

Here are some videos Stic-o-Style. I am trying to track down a horrible vibration while on the throttle. It's bad. As in the mirrors may vibrate off. According to the videos and my untrained eye, everything looks okay as far as tires/suspension. I think I'll check out the motor/tranny next. I'm thinking it could be a broken motor mount.

But if you have time check out these two 12MB videos. :p The new rock sliders make great camera mounts. :D And yes, I don't have a pimp magnetic camera lense like Stic-o, so I have to ziptie my **** under the truck.

Harmonic balancer? The vulcanized ( rubber) coupler can slip

Check to see if indicated TDC ( on balancer) is true tdc. A few degrees off is all it takes to thrill the girls
