Well I picked up a bunch of tubing today for my sliders. I decided on 3/16" stuff cause Colin said so. :p Anyway, they'll be made out of 2x3 and 2x2 tubing. Here is the basic design... don't know how I can make them anymore bling. :D

I have a couple things going on this weekend.. so I'll work on them here and there. But they'll be done by Sunday.

Oh yeah, 24' of 2x3 and 36' of 2x2. Should be enough to make two sets if someone halfway local would be interested. Off-setting the cost of all this metal would be cool. :)

Is 5' going to be enough? :p

I'd go with 6 feet each side. Mine are 6' long then again it depends on how you design them.. Make sure you gusset the frame mounts..

Yeah, the 2x3 is going to be 6' on the dot.

They just left. But I also just primered the changing table and it's in the middle of the garage. So I'm waiting for that to dry enough to move it. :p Then I'll see how I feel. :D

in for updates..

Okay.. heading out to the garage to faaaab.

Meaning this is the Saturday night Chat Thread. :p

Damnit why are you so far, a pair of sliders would be nice right about now. Especially with $$$ burning a hole in my pocket.

Okay... got the baby junk out of the way and on to work we go.

On a side note, my Dad-In-Law is the freakin coolest. He's always getting me new tools when he's around.

whats the deal with the shackel sitting on the garage floor?

Tex, aren't there any fab shops around you? If you went with the same design as section it shouldn't be too much b/c it's a simple design.

Sextion, I can't believe you're not done yet. You can do an SAS (for the most part) in a day, but you can't build some sliders in 30 minutes. :D

They probably wouldn't be that much to ship really.
Go read Brian1's thread for his 4door sliders he's selling. He hasn't found anything cheap so far.

I made some rear shackles for my Mountaineer and for the front of my Explorer. Those are the Warrior clones for the Mounty.

Tex, I bet these would be cheap to ship via Forward Air if you have a terminal nearby.

Are you going to weld, or bolt them to the frame? At least I'm ahead of you here, Mine are 95% done. They work good as steps, got to reinforce for rocks :(
