I noticed alot of people could not make the mid week trip 8/21 8/22.

So hows about we looka ar getting a good size group for 9/7 or 9/8.

Will miss the vaction rush, and would probably be pretty quite since alot of people are coming up on the holiday?

It's give a few people working on their rigs times to get ready too.

Gold Mountain is waiting!

As Far as I'm comcerned I can be there anytime, but some people were a afraid of the holiday traffic. we should do a poll and see who can go when.Sorry for the confusion

The only Holiday I'm seeing is Labor Day, which is the 31st - 2nd. I know we didn't want to do it that weekend.

Yes, it was originally and still is planned for the 14-15th.

Sorry for the confusion, I had just read a few posts where people had suggested that the holiday traffic was a deterrent, I did not check the calendar, and me wanting to get involved in as many runs I can get to, jumped the gun by trying to set a run more people could take advantage of.

I was over enthusiastic and apologize, but if my health would hold out I would be involved in at least one event weekly.

If I get my rig back, I'm in:D
Hey Bill do you need a ride next week to take your rig to the shop? I'll be home all next week.

I'm in for the 14th/15th of September. If possible, I can come up the weekend before for a 1 day trip.

The dates I posted where in error, I had read a few posts saying people couldn't make it and I got the idea of trying a different weekend to try and accommodate everyone. It was my error in jumping the gun, but if anyone does want to come up before hand, I would be interested in a day trip or whatever. I have a wide-open schedule soo…

I still have my calender marked for September 14-15.

Trails that are high on my list are...

1) Gold Mountain - rated "Most Difficult" with a nifty stairstep section that'll throw most people for a spin.

2) Dishpan Springs - rated "Most Difficult" with plenty of off-camber sections, a spot where Ranger X rolled his Ranger (I held my breath when I drove through), the notorious Devil's Slide, a killer rock garden, and a nice stream crossing at the end.

I have never attempted "Lower Larga Flats Trail - also a "Most Difficult" trail, but I think I'd like to give it a go because, according to William Teie's "Trails of the San Bernardinos" it is considered more scenic than Holcomb Creek Jeep Trail, with more open and interesting views of the surrounding areas. There is a rock garden section that is considered "challenging" and because I've never attempted it before.

Although "Rattlesnake Canyon" is a bit out of our way, I would love to try this with a group because of the fact that "Water and Sand may challenge..." according to William Teie as well as the fact that "Some say that the terrain in the canyon will remind you of Utah." That should be interesting. One question is, Is this trail completely open to the public due to the fact that this travels through Desert Tortose country? I'll have to ask a Ranger that question.

Those are the trails on my list. They are all "Most Difficult" runs, but perhaps we can work our way down the difficulty ratings from here to trails of less intensity. Any thoughts??

Great Website!

I really liked what I saw! I have more photos to contribute (if you like). That Gold Mountain trail really catches people by surprise - but, it's lots of fun...

Hi Ken
I would appreciate any photo's you might have to contribute. It will not take me three weeks to get them up this time I promise. I'm just playing around with it right now but in the next few day's the site will look a little better.

Again I would appreciate any photo's and thanks

What's the scoop with Bill's roll over out there?

No new rollover! When we ran Dishpan Springs, I pointed out the spot where I rolled in 1999.
