Here is a question for those of you who have done this.

Is the top bolt as big a pain to get out as the bottom bolt?

I used my ball joint press to get the bolt flush with the old shackle and then cut the other side off flush with the shackle on that side.

Then just spread the shackle a bit and dropped the leaf out.

That won't work on the top bolt.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm considering adding the Warriors. I would like a little more lift than the new leaves and AAL gave me.

I just don't want to do it the hard way.

Seafoam Penetrating Spray. (Deep Creep)

Use that a couple nights in a row generously and you'll be golden.

I was worried that I'd have the issue of not being able to remove the bolts.. We threw it up on the hoist.. took off the nut, my buddy pulled the leaf spring down a little bit and I pulled the bolt out with my fingers. That easy.

Just be generous with the spray. I live in the Rust Belt, my truck's body is really starting to show it, but those bolts came out super easy.

Cool, my truck has been a Florida truck it's whole life.

I haven't had to use PB Blaster on anything. Every bolt has just come off easy.

Thanks

I think I used a sawzall on mine. Just cut it off and toss it all out.

Bottom shackel bolt

I used a matabo to cut out bolt & remove shackle, then a puller to push out the remaining bolt in the leaf eye. But now have to try & find a separate shackle bushing cause that one is shot. I made my own to extend the height but can't seam to find the bushing without the original shackle????

I burned my bushing out and replaced it with urethane ones. The bolt came out still frozen to the inner sleeve.

I sprayed them with Deep Creep Saturday morning.

This afternoon I was able to push the top bolts out with my fingers.

After having to use a ball joint press, then cut the bottom ones, I was totally shocked they came out so easy.

Swapping out the factory units for the Warrior shackles took less than an hour.

I can't recommend the Deep Creep enough. I'll be using it quite often in the future.

Glad to hear it worked.

I was shocked by how easily they came out as well.

Pricey stuff, roughly $11+ a can here, but well worth it.

I've never heard of this stuff - where do you find it in Canada?

Canadian Tire and Part Source should have it.

It's usually next to Seafoam or WD40.
