Hey everyone. About 2 weeks ago I installed the pro comp double add a leafs, and shackles. For about the last 4 days the truck has been shaking really bad at speeds below 25 mph and the shaking stops as soon as the truck comes to a complete stop. Then, when I start to accellerate it starts shaking again really bad untill I hit about 25. I can tell that the shaking is coming from the rear end, so I figure it has something to do with the aal's and shackles. Besides it shaking, it also makes this weird noise kinda like metal hitting metal. When I installed the add a leafs I wasnt really paying attention when I was putting the leafs back together, and I left out the little spacers that go between the leafs. Could this be why? I am getting really sick of this shaking, so if anyone has any idea of whats going on, please help.

Thanks,
Andy

put the spacers back in and make sure the rear end is not ****ed

So you think the spacers would actually cause the shaking? I really dont want to take the stupid leafs back apart. I suppose that I could take the spacers, and cut in from the side to the hole, and then just loosen the leafs back up and pound them in there. What do you think?

i dont know if they would cause the shaking but they were put there for a reason and they should go back in

Ok, so I was talking to one of my friends at work tonight and he said that it could be the U joint on the axle shaft binding or something because I lifted the back, and the U Joints are so old and worn out. What do you think? Also, could it be the angle of the driveshaft, because it changed a bit when I lifted it?

u joints would do it. replace em they are cheap and go from there

the driveshaft should be fine.. people do SOA's and are ok-

i have double AAL's, shackles, 4door leafs and mines solid as a rock.

so you think I should just replace the U-Joints? Do I need one or two for the rear axle?

i am pretty sure 2 but i would doubble check

how can I check to see if they are bad

wiggle the driveshaft for play

Thanks, I'll check it after school tommorow.

Ok, so when I got home today I crawled underneith the truck, and I just thought I would retorque the ubolts. I torqued them down about a week ago. I think I torqued them to 85 lbs. They seemed fairly tight today, but I torqued them down to 100 lbs and took the truck for a drive and it doesnt shake anymore. At least I solved the problem for now, but they seem like they like to loosen themeselves up. Maybe I need to use some locktite on them.

i think they came with the red locktite on them from the factory but use the blue if you plan to remove them anytime soon
