On the morning of March 3, when the wife was leaving her work her Explorer would initially not shift into reverse and the “wrench” symbol flashed on her instrument panel. After turning the ignition on and off a few times she was able to get her car in reverse and drove to the dealer.
Turns out that the shift module went bad and needs to be replaced. No ETA when it will be fixed. She was told that because it’s such a new model, they don’t know how soon they can get the replacement so she is driving a loaner car from the dealer for now.
