I own a v-8 Explorer and was wondering what shocks would be the best? I don't do any off roading.
Anybody had experience with Explorer Comp Pro MX6 Monotube Adjustable shock absorbers? I was curious if this would be overkill for my vehicle?
Thanks

I would say check out the Shocks area of the forum. Using the search function works well too.

This question would be much better in the Shocks Area plus you will get better responses there.

Not trying to be mean.....

I have experience with Rancho 9000s. They're a great choice, even for a street-only truck.

My X only is on-road, and I love my Monroe Reflex shocks. They are firm, yet not harsh. They dramatically helped the cornering and braking on my X, as the old ProComps were really worn out.

I am very happy with my Edlebroc IAC shocks.
They are costly however.
Check EE they have a deal on them with a sway bar kit.

My favorite are Rancho RSX.

A harty second for Monroe Reflex. Those and a EE rear sway bar make the Mounty ride & handel better than my other lowered X.

I also have Monroe's Sensatracs, made a world of difference over the stock Motorcraft shocks. I yanked off the stock shocks and put on the Monroe's, with only 1000 miles on the odometer, does that tell you anything?

Dont know if you can get them for ya s'plorers but ive driven a few cars with SPAX shocks and I have to say they are excellent! they also have a very long life so well woth the extra pennies :D
