Hey everybody!

I'm going to get rid of the old lean/squat that my Ex has had for the longest time and put in a set of door leaf springs. While I'm at it, I'm replacing the shocks as well. I got a set of Rancho RSX17000s for $191.72 shipped at Summit Racing.

Anyway, my question is this. Is there any order in which replace these? Leaf springs then shocks, shocks then leaf springs, or does it matter?

Thanks everyone!

I don't think it would matter. I'd think you'd remove everything to put the leaf springs in, and then when replacing all the the leaf spring related things throw on the new shocks.

remove shock, remove spring, install new spring, install new shock. I've found it helpful to only take apart one side at a time so the other side keeps the axle positioned.

Great advice! Works for re-lining drum brakes, too.

Yep, when doing drum brakes I've had to go to the other side more than once to see how it goes back together.
