Fun Fact: it's hard to see ruts right after it snows, and you might get high centered because your explorer has crap ground clearance

Family has owned this ex since new, I inherited it recently. It lives in Northern Jersey. Here is the "before" photo

Shackles were totally shot and literally minutes from failure. Heres a comparison of what came off and what went on

Heres a pic after the torsion twist (not too much lift, only about 1 1/4"). BTW the black rim in the above pic is a cragar soft 8. According to the tire shop, they were not true and would not balance, so I would not really recommend them. The bfg all terrains were put on the stock wheels, but I will be getting some black rocks (made in the USA!) soon.

The stock rear bumper was looking long in the tooth. Courtesy of Harry's U Pull It, a replacement was secured.

After the cragar debacle (sending wheels back, replacements still bad), the bfg all terrains were put on the stock rims. Only have a bit of an "action" shot for the new tires. Will get one at the measuring spot soon. Tires are 31x10.5x15 btw

nice x u got there

Nice Explorer, I have a 1999 Also, working on some mods myself.

Heres a final shot at the "measuring spot" with the 31's, much improved in my opinion:)

I'm in Morris county. I had about 15.5" to the rocker, but I removed the plastic rocker covers also.

Lovin' the truck so far! Can't wait to see what's next!
