Due to a few people missing the recent Big Bear run, I would like to invite everyone with the time to a run on this side of the San Bernardino Mtns (Cleghorn, Pilot Rock,etc.). The trails range from easy to fairly difficult, but all trails have bypasses and this will be doable by anyone with a working truck.

Date is Friday, January 11th at ?8:30am?. Meeting spot will be easy to reach at the McDonalds off the 15 at the 138.

Current status
When: Friday, Jan 11th at 8:30am (not firm yet)
Where: Highway 15/138 near Cleghorn.
Who: Boomer, Cybergasm, Ritsui, exploderpilot
unconfirmed: Donner?
Comm: CB CH 17, (alt 25)

How to get there
Exit the 15 at HWY 138 and come south on Wagon Train road (east of the 15). Meet in front of McDonalds.

GPS: 34°18'33.00"N, 117°28'11.65"W (34.309°, -117.47°)

What to bring
Bring a lunch. There is food/gas at the start of the run, but no services from there to the end.
Bring a camera! Views range from nothing (fogged in) to fairly spectacular in clear weather.
Bring a cooler with some BBQ stuff to cook if you plan to stop by my house after the run.

Pretty sure Boomer works on Sunday, so at this point it would be Friday the 11th .

Edit: I just got a call to work either Saturday or Sunday. I can choose which.

If it's easier for the majority to go on Sun, then no big, I can make it the next time...;)

...besides T-haven is right around the corner...:D

...has anyone told mounty71 yet?

Yup. PM'd him earlier.

As for the date, I'm not going to rule out Saturday just to get my gloves back :D, though if anyone else can go on Friday, that's a great day. Getting three or more of us together on a weekday is great.

Well if it ends up being Saturday that would be fine too

I could always *cough* call in sick*cough**sneeze*sniffle*:D

Thanks for the PM Ritsui, and Boomer, for letting me know about this :)

First, i've just GOT to ask, would it be crazy for me to take the 2wd mounty? :) I know a 4wd jeep would be more appropriate, but i wont know until probably Wednesday whether my dad could take off work Friday so we could take the jeep.

But i won't bring the mounty if it means holding everyone else back to either strap me through everything or just waiting for me to get out of a sticky situation. I've wheeled it before on some muddy trails and it's done fairly well with a little head start, but you all have to be the judge since i don't know what these trails are like. If the mounty is out of the question, and my dad needs to work, it's ok, i guess i could wait one more week for truckhaven.

Oh, just saw cyber's last post...if he did unfortunately catch some illness that saturday ;), that would be great!

I'd still consider taking the mounty if you all thought it would do ok.

The great thing about Cleghorn is that it's two seperate trails that keep intersecting...so if you end up in a bad spot you can just back out to the main road and move on to the next section...If I remember correctly the farthest that one would have to go is about 1/2 mile...

IN! Even if I have to drive the ranger. I'll take the bypasses with mounty. Or show him up.......just kidding. I really want to shoot, and have nothing coming up till thaven.

I think the Mounty would do ok up there. there would be some sections that you would probably have to bypass but most of the more challenging sections have bypasses to em.

and don't worry about holding up the group this ain't a speed contest.;)
it'll just give us practice at recovery:p:
but seriously don't worry about it if you to strapped over a rough section.

but then again I did Cleghorn in my old D-50 with 4in of travel:D
ahhh the memories:thumbsup:

Yes, I do.....I shoot my guns at home!

Probally not, I'll be lucky enough to make it to t-haven:( I'm still in the holding pattern with the wife. She's do to pop any day now. I'm gonna try and see if I get my dad to help me get the rear bumper done next weekend, or the main lower part anyway.

and ted if it wasn't for the roll, we would not have the JP mobie! :D

...i like your way of thinking......:D

That's gotta be exciting Stic-o, i'm happy for you. Even if you can't make it out to any runs for a while.

As for me and my mounty, i'll think about it, i'd love to take it on the trails, but at the same time, i don't want to miss everything exciting by doing the bypasses.
