Anyone else have a full-size siren speaker on their 2nd-gen Explorer?
I have a Code 3 PB100B for my Whelen horn/PA but it is by no means a professional installation -- I literally have it tie-strapped to the right frame rail within the bumper just behind the right foglamp. Besides getting in the way when I was draining the radiator, it hasn't caused any problems there.
I'd like it moved though. Not sure if it's doable since the PB100B speaker is a full-size speaker (quite deep) and weighs over 10 pounds. I do have the mounting bracket, but I don't want to drill a single hole in the vehicle. Is there a location that siren speakers would commonly be mounted on 2000 model year Explorers? It's a little too deep to fit between the grille and radiator, and I don't want to have it in front of the grille. Maybe I should just get a different speaker?
