I installed a Kenwood KDC-MP228 head unit and a kenwood sirius tuner (KTC-SR902). everything works but the audio is strange. Only when in sirius mode do i have the following problems.
1. at low volumes the front speakers dont seem to be outputting anything .. only the back speakers.
2. the back speakers are very loud, to the point that volume 1 is loud, volume 0 is off. no middle ground.
3. when turned up over say volume 15, it sounds normal.
4. the bass is much lower in sirius mode as well.. (must have the LOUD function on in sirius)

i have a 2002 explorer. does anybody know if these are known issues with the explorer? or maybe this particular head unit or sirius tuner? or do i just have a screwed up cable or something?

thanks for any help.

Love the title of this thread. :D

This problem is VERY odd.

I have a simular set up. Kenwood HU with Knewood Sirius tuner. My only thought would be with the cable. There is like six or eight wires in that cable. I would assume two of them would be stereo. ( left / right ) and the rest would be communication between the HU and the tuner.
I dont know why you would have issues with the front and rear only in Sirius mode.

I do notice that the tuning for Sirius is different than radio and CD. Nothing huge mind you.
