Wondering where you guys with a Sirius Starmate Replay unit have mounted it in your second generation X's. I don't want to use the window suction cup/arm mount and was thinking of mounting it with some black velcro to the top lip of the info center below the HVAC controls...

anyone have pics of this or a better idea? That seems like a great place to view the screen and the wires can be run here easily and be kept out of sight, but it's just slightly out of the way to reach and change stations w/o the remote.

I would like to see someone do a XM/Sirius install like mine... and do a write up on it:) But if not, where you have pointed out would be a good place-I used to have my XM there. Or you could get a Pro-Fit(Google it) kit.

Yeah, I combed through all the forums and came across yours a few times. Nice, very nice... did you do that yourself?

yeah, It took about 1 day to complete.

Justin your interrior makes me sick

His interior makes me ill as well... but in a good way of course. I'd love to see a how-to or an detailed explanation of how you created that.

I could not imagine having it where any sun could hit it. When I was shopping for a Sirius unit, almost every unit was smokin' hot to the touch. I just kept thinking that all that heat, plus all the electronics they stuff in there, is not a good combination. I finally found the Sirius Starbase, which has a separate slave unit with all the electronics inside that, so the display is only a display, so the heat issue is very low.

My installation in a 05 Accord LXSE coupe...

Thanks for all the good info everyone. I decided on just velcro-ing the mouting bracket in my original location above the info center which similar to where I had it in my previous ride. I don't have the time or skill right now to bust out a Justin-job but I'll always be invisioning it there as I ride around town.

I'm going to look into the starbase option for my wifes PT Cruiser because it seems a lot smarter than the starmat, though I've had no problems with it and it does get hot.

Thanks again all.

yeah mine gets hot as well. I had a phone mounter on the floor between the two seats when I got the truck. It is to hold like a Plam PC or a blue barry, but I took the back off the starmate, (if you notice there is a little back plate that will come off the back easy but holds on well) and got some small nuts and bolts and just mounted it right to the plate that was on it. The holes actually lined with no problems at all. Than got the power cord to run down the arm part through the carpet up to the ash tray. You cant see the cord at all. The Satellite recever does the same, down the arm into the carpet, than up to the top under the door trim, and around to the back and out the back hatch 6 inches from the window... Very easy to do and you can get a stand at a cell phone place for almost free. And very strong, and easy to get to and no sun hits it. Right at your finger tips.

here is what it looks like in the truck
