alright heres the issue: its a 1998 ex sport with almost 100k on it. I put 33's on it about march of 2006. most the time it occurs when the car is cold. After i let it warm up for a little, ill drive off and it happens either right when i switch it into drive, or after i come to a stop and try to go again. it doesnt go anywhere, the rpms go up and it finally 'jerks' or catches i guess. to get it to engage i switch it to park and back to drive and that works for the most part. can ya'll please tell me any advice or heads up? any of ya'll know if it is, in fact, the tranny slipping? thanks so much. i have searched other threads and im just tryin to get all the info i can, thanks again!

It could have leakage on the valve body gaskets, loose valve body bolts, low EPC pressure, leakage from a worn manual shift selector slide valve, or its bore. A bad DTRS could cause problems with starting, and reverse lights unless you play with the shifter. You model year uses the digital version.

I would suggest that you first pull off the pan, and examine the gaskets. Use an In/LB torque wrench on the bolts. Look on WWW.ATRA.Com for a certified shop in your area if you don't feel comfortable about doing this yourself. Most of the time these repair shops would suggest an entire rebuild which isn't always necessary for every problem.
