Slow Motion Project 92

Well, intake gaskets have been replaced and after a few days of hunting down a connection problem, all is well and should be back on track to completing the 4wd conversion project. If I get the chance to go to the JY this weekend I will go get my transmission. I hope to have this all done in the next 30-60 days, stay tuned. Link below for my nightmare electrical problem thread.

I went to PAP last weekend on Sunday and they had a Auto 4x4 that was halfway pulled , the transfer case and front drive shaft was already removed , helps when the Cat Converters are also removed by PAP .

Was it the totaled green 93?

I think so , Hit hard in the front end .

I'm pretty sure that is the same one, front left wheel is broken too. Hopefully I can get that transmission before its gone. While I have your attention, do you have an extra brush guard or know where I can find one?

yeah I checked out that one , The front driver wheel was all jacked up on it lol , I would say check craigslist , My brush guard or push bar came off a Bronco II and I bent the bottom brackets to work with my body lift bumper brackets , I can keep an eye open for you and post something If I find it ! .

I know their is a guy in Palmetto that parts out rangers and has a lot of parts for RBV's .

well a few minute search found this one ! , http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/pts/4375761066.html , And this is the guy with all the ranger parts , search his number on CL and it will show all his posts . http://atlanta.craigslist.org/sat/pts/4374243254.html

HA, that red ranger is the one that my 4wd axle come out of. I have dealt with him a couple of times. I am on a list for him to call me if he comes across a brush guard. I really like the brush guard you linked too, I have seen that add also, I was hoping to find one a little cheaper, but I guess that is going to be the price range.

Nice work you have done on it.

Going to PAP tomorrow to pull the transmission from the totaled 93 Ex if it's still there. What tools should I take? I have limited tools so I will need to pick a few things up on my way. Assortment of wrenches, sockets, long extension? I know I need a 12 point 10 mm for the drive shaft bolts. Mostly I will have to pick up some deep wells for the exhaust bolts and cross member bolts, I am just trying to narrow down the sizes to save a little money.

Wow, it has been a long time since I have updated this thread. Well, not alot of progress has been made, but some is better than none. I found a brush guard on craigslist and installed it and I found bought a set of tires and wheels from my son and put them on this morning. Steel wheels and some 31x10.5's, they look really good to me, but they rub a little in hard turns. Still need a transmission, but I'm not sure when that will happen because I'm still toying with the idea of a V8. Does the wheel/tires and brush guard make it look trashy lol? Almost forgot, I swapped the one legger 3.08 drum brake rear end out for a 2000 Ex Posi 3.73 disc brake rearend. Still don't have the parking brakes hooked up, but I will figure that out one day. Sorry, I didn't take any pictures of that swap, but it was pretty straight forward. Dropped one, popped the other in.

Good steal on Craigslist...Looks good to me, real clean and straight. I hope you swap gears in the front to match your new rearend! Looks like a great project you're wrenching on.

That brush guard looks terrible on your truck.... You should just sell it to me. Lol. Great project, man! Oh, and the wheels too... I'll have those as well.

SAWZALL!

No need to be fuss'n with exhaust bolts or anything you don't need to keep.

If you can get torch, even better.

Thanks, I scored that brush guard for $50!!! As far as gears, yes they are matching, this Ex stared life as a 2wd (still technically is because I haven't changed the tranny yet), the 3.73 front axle was swapped in awhile back.
