Has anyone fitted or modified the front of thier 2007 explorer so that you can snatch or tow the car out frontwards when stuck in sand etc. what modifications do you know of , and how do you fit towing eyes or hooks ?

i have a 2007 v6 explorer. it has the 1 1/4 " hitch. I plan on putting on a trans cooler and a 2" reciever. what will the ntow capacity be?

Your capacity doesn't go up, other than you are not limited by the hitch as much. I've seen guys tow 4 or 5k lbs with your suspension setup and the tranny cooler. They also have 3.73 or 4.10 gears, not sure what yours are though.

The hooks are about 10 bucks each from harbor freight. Then go to ace and get some 5" x 7/16 grade 8 bolts nuts and washers. Lay down under the truck and look up behind the bumper. There is a perfect spot on the bottom of the frame behind the bumper to where they tuck in to the opening in the airdam. You'll need a long bit, because you'll have to drill through both the bottom and top of the frame.

You could use the bolts included with the hooks, but you'll have to pull the bumper, fish the nuts down inside the frame, and figure out how to get a wrench in there to hold them. Not fun.
