Soft top Explorer sport?

I was just reading an old Car mag (From 2000) yesterday and it said that in 2001 Ford was introducing a soft top Explorer sport with the same front end like the sport trac. Well they have the hard top model..where is the soft?? Has anyone heard about this? They even had a pic of it in the magazine.

Those magazines are notorious for that! GM is even worse. When they introduced the new Tahoe and Suburban they brought a few up to Michigan Tech where I went to school, they brought a couple 4 door Tahoes and a couple Subs, but the one that got the most attention was the 2-door Tahoe. Man was that thing sharp! Saw it in person and wanted one sooooooooooo bad. Then when they are actually released to dealers we were told there was never a two door. Of well, so after that I don't take what is in those magazines too seriously, I wait until they come to market.

But man was that 2-door Good Looking!
