well i got the call today. the '95 explorer that i got last augest sold at auction. i'm alittle dissapointed at what we ended up getting. it went for $5,000 :( and we will clear about $4,800..meaning i'll get about $1,700-$1,800..will cover about 6 months of insurance..meaning no extra money to spend..wich makes me sad..but o well..its gone and it was fun to mess with. :D

but anyway..here was a pic when i bought it in augest '05 for $700..screw'd tranny, busted taillight, non working radio, very unsafe tires with buldges in them..it was scary to drive..

then the recent pics..freshly rebuilt tranny, new tires, new taillight, radio fixed..everything in working order..runs and drives great..and looks awsome i might add after i buffed it all out.

Not bad for a $700 truck. Good luck on your next purchase

Damn, 1700-1800 for your 6 month insurance!! I don't feel so bad having to pay 600 per 6 months for mine now. ;)

Atleast you had fun fixing it up, and you will have money to spend when insurance comes around since you already got that covered. :)

yeah all in all it was good. my grandpa put 3k into it(including the truck price) so he got his money back and i got the extra..worked out nicely.

yeah 6 months is $1,700...its crazy...prolly gonna be worse once they find out about my ticket..eww..lol

hmm, 600 every three months is pretty good deal, i pay 367 every three months w/ two vehicles,, a 2002 sport and a 98 ranger 4x2. Is yoru family planning to buy another x? or just keep what you all ahve already

oh no.. we arent getting rid of any of our Xs(moms '94 my '96 or my dads '97)..love them to much and there such great trucks.

naw i'm just looking for a newer X as a project to sell and make more off of then this one worked out to be. hpfully next time around i'll make enough money to buy alot of mods for my truck..lol

Russ,

You have to change your signature now. :)

It sold for "only" $5000 at an auction? Jeez... remind me to never plan on buying a vehicle in Alaska. With a new tranny and in perfect shape it would have maybe brought $2500 in auction here, and even then it would have to be low miles and perfect.

WOW...$5000.....that is a $2500 truck here all day long. I sold my 95 for $5000, but that was 3 years ago and it was an Eddie Bauer on 34's. Maybe I need to take mine to Alaska to sell. I wonder what the Range Rover would go for up there?

thers a '98 land rover discovery in the paper with 98k miles thats going for $15k..idk what they go for tho..

well here trucks dont drop in value like they do down south..the blue book vale for that truck was $6,700 and i see '95s going for that all day..somtimes more somtimes little less. i think its crazy how the vaules drop like a rock down south.

but anyway we should be getting the check today..so i guess it worked out allright.
