Something on Windshield

i just got my x back from the body shop for some "spring touchup" They repainted the hood and buffed out the rest of the body. I was driving today and i thought that the fron window was fogging up, but realized there was some sort of residue on the outside of the window. I got home and tried some glass cleaner and it is still there. Could it be some "overspray" from the hood repaint, or maybe some of the compund/wax that they used. I'm wondering if it is ok to use some Paint Thinner on the windshield to get this crap off?

If it is overspray, a good sharp razorblade scraping will take it right off. Paint thinner shouldnt hurt the glass, its pretty hard nonporus stuff Good luck!

another trick is 1,000 grit steel wool , or clay away ( from most auto supplyers ) or take it back to the shop and make them fix it , they did it.
