Ill be there next week to get this done.

You know I go away for a couple years and everyone is doing solid axles, and Obama goes effin nuts building a buggy with an explorer body.

Killer work Harrold, keep it up man. You want to go hit the mud pit at white rock sometime soon?

WOW IZ!

I just read a few of the last pages of this thread. You have come a long way since your first SAS! I have alot to learn with all your calculations and angles and junk! I dig the build. You are really thinking it through and I bet it is going to work great.

Does this mean your explorer is never getting a grill?:p:

Congratulations on your new position. But, if you want my guns, you will have to take them from my armed self!:salute:

Trailer that thing to colorado so we can go wheelin!

Kirby

Hey Rookie! Long time no see!

Heheh no mud pits, no mud anything. But I hope to see you at the All Ford Nats and/or the trail run afterwards this year!

K thanks sorry for being blind; I really did look for that tab! I want to keep an eye on this build, it's pretty awsome!

All this chit-chat..... Here I thought IZ did some more work....

Come on, you can do it!
Its called moral support............It keeps him going.
NOW GET TO WORK!!

Yes BKennedy, I did make some progress today (rear panhard mounT), but no pics to show it :)

On another topic, I might throw away the Ford ECU and go with a MegaSquirt ECU to simplify running the engine and the wiring harness. The SOHC's EDIS-6 would make the ignition end a piece of cake.

I love my megasquirt. I will probably retrofit a Ford EDIS for spark to replace the dizzy.

Dooo tell, do you have a thread about it and/or the install? Cauz I have some questions which you've probably already ansered in a thread or something.

I haven't discussed it on here, because it's on my 383 sbc. running a Tuned Port Injection system in my 1977 Blazer.

The Mega manual has LOTS of info. If you have questions, you can ask here or PM me.

yeah, I'm interested in this mega squirt thing too. Please let us know what it's all about. I'm gonna go check the site now...Thanx,

THanks for the offer seafarer76.

I just realized today that if I switch to MegaSquirt, I have to run a manual transmission (yeah I'm slow). This could be a plus in some aspects especially if the manual any shorter than the automatic.

I think at least the M5OD manuals are the same length as the automatic transmissions. I don't think it takes any cross member modifications to switch to a manual. So you won't gain much there, except the weight reduction and obviously reliability. It would be worth it to see if any other manuals would fit though.

for what it's worth, my C5 is 6" shorter than the A4ld, it's set up manual reverse valve body so there is no clutch needed but also no shifting comes from the transmission without driver moving the shift lever, it's essentially a manual, no computer connection, no kickdown cable.

You could have checked that out yourself if you weren't too busy doing tequila shots with RockRanger at Truckhaven.
