Hi, I was working on my buddies 2005 explorer the other day, installing new pioneer front speakers to replace the factory ones. I have done a few other audio installations before so it seemed like an easy task. I took the door panels off and removed the speakers. The stock speakers had a connector that isn't standard so I had to cut the wires and put some connectors on them that would fit on the pioneer speakers. Hooked up the front left speaker and bolted it in. I turned on the car to test the sound and everything was going smoothly. I go and removed the front right speaker, cut the wires as the left, plugged it in and tested again. This time no music was played through any of the speakers! The factory stereo was working fine even though no music was playing. Does this car have a factory amp? I think I may have blown a fuse or something? All the fuses in the Power box were fine and under the steering wheel were fine too. I couldnt see any fuses in the owner's manual that could have done this. Anybody know of a solution to the problem? Thanks!
