I am wanting to change my tires from the stock tires on the 15" rim to BFG KO's 31" tires on my stock 15" rim. I know a lot of people have done that, but how have you guys calibrated your speedometer? I've previously read about changing the gears on the speedo or something, but I'm not completely sure. If any one has any suggestions/comments, they would be greatly apprecitated. Thanks in advance.

Blue, do a search on speedo calibrations. There was a good thread a while back that explained in detail how and what to do.

I don't know if this will work for you, I think yet not confirmed that they wnet to a new style speedo cable in 98. I also need this done for my 35"s.

ANYBODY?

The quickest and easiest way for you to find out Gage is to check on your transfer case for a cable going to a vehicle speed sensor (VSS). Do a search for the thread from some time ago where I posted pictures of what mine looks like. It uses one 10mm bolt to hold it on and has an electrical connector on it. Remove it and see if there is a small plastic gear on the end about 1 1/2" long. If there is a gear, you can change it, if there isn't a gear or the VSS isn't on your transfer case (or transmission if 2WD) then you can't change it. The '97s have the gear, the '99s do not. I have never looked under a '98.
