All I can think is maybe the new speedo cable I bought is bad. I replaced the pink gear in the tranny. I bought a whole new cable, not just a refill. So today I go to the junk yard, whole nline of X's all have their speedo's intact. Which leads me to believe that the speedos generally do not go bad. Never the less I pull a speedo and drive around the junk yard as fast as possible. Still exactly the same problem.
Now the bone head at the parts store told me that the cable came pre lubed. So with nothing left to replace I am looking into a gps system, I hear they will tell you your speed.
