sport fender flare protectors

hi everyone, can anyone tell me were i can get the fender flare protectors for a 98 sport. this is the clear plastic that goes on after it has been painted near the bottom of the rear flares, as well as on the ground effect. i would like to know because i am going to be painting them from grey to black and once you take them off (which is not any fun) they can never be re-used.

you can get "cut to shape" from 3M.

Asking the opposite: Whats the best way to remove them. They are discolored and generally ugly looking. I was thinking Goo Gone Extreme and maybe a flat peice of plastic like a bondo squegee, but im not sure if the goo gone would ruin the paint.

there a ***** to remove. you will probably have to use a heat gun, and a razor. then after that, you could probably use gas (i know I'm going to get bashed for saying that) to remove the glue, or paint reducer might work.

heat gun yes
razor blade no
gas?
Not worth an answer.

Goo Gone or Goof Off.

MONMIX, how do you get that off then, I've always used a heat gun to heat that stuff up, then used a razor blade to scrape it off. as for the gas, i just was saying that if you don't have access to any type of stuff that would take glue off (BTW, i am not questioning your response, i just want to know how to get that stuff off, it can be a real nightmare!). i have never herd of Goo Gone, or Goof Off before. you guys in the u.s. have way more things then we do up here in the great white north! :D

its cool
no harm no foul

They make plastic razors.. I use them for removing vinyl decals & stuff. Works great, won't damage/scratch the glass/paint/etc. They are called scraperite. http://www.scraperite.com/
