2010 STA Supercharged
Application:
2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Adrenalin
4.6L 3V V8, AWD 6 speed 6R60 auto tran.

Stock bottom end, tran and diffs.

Goal: 400AWHP/400AWTQ

Supercharger A)
Roush Generation 5 M90 Intercooled Supercharger System
About $6,000 to $7,000 installed.
Well proven system that has been around since 2001.
The Roush go-to, entry level supercharger for their "production" vehicles.
Very very few Mountaineer, Explorer or Sport Tacs have been modified with the M90.
Lowest HP/TQ potential.
1,8L displacement.

Supercharger B)
Saleen Series VI.5 Intercooled Supercharger System
About $8,000 to $9000 installed.
Many many Mountaineer, Explorer and Sport Tracs with this system already on the road through Brenspeed.
Newest technology.
Highest HP/TQ potential for any future upgrades (not planning on many)
2.3L displacement.

What unit would you go with?

Go with the Saleen. I have been looking for a used kit for months now, after passing on 3-4 of them at Christmas time (when I bought my STA), figuring they were constandlt for sale. Now, i can't find one!

Also, you have a 6R80 trans, the later ST V8s went to the 6r80 vs the 6r60.

Would this work on a 2010 explorer 4.6l what would I have to modify?

Will bolt right onto the engine. The stuff outside the engine is where it would start to get custom. Heat exchanger, intercooler pump, hoses, intake, etc.. Easy stuff though. The key is the headunit and intercooler manifold.

Ok thank you my mom has one and in a year she is giving it back to the dealership but it's really starting to grow on me. I drive a Roush mustang and I love the 4.6l s/c glad to hear it's a possibility.
