2005 Ford Sport Trac XLT
Hey guys/gals
I have a 2003 Sport Trac XLT 2wheel drive and love it....loved it....Last week the 250,000+ mile engine gave out. So before I go and rebuild this one, I was wondering if anyone has swapped the 4.0 V6 for an ecoboost. What needs to change for this swap?

It's been discussed but I don't believe anyone has done it yet. I believe you would need the engine, transmission, computer/s, and harness from the donor vehicle. No telling what the packaging issues would be until you take measurements, or just start going at it to make it fit.

everything from the radiator to the rear driveshaft would have to change
You would need an entire ecoboost donor vehicle and about a $15-20000 budget would be my guess to get a 3.5 eco under your hood. There are a few Ranger 3.5 ecoboost projects going on the internet right now try a search. Toooooooo rich for my blood!
I would stick with the 4.0 SOHC or consider a 4.6 v8 covnersion or 5.0 v8 conversion if Texas would allow it (01 last year of the 302)

Thanks.....sounds like research time!!
