Hi there,I have a 98 Ranger 4.0 4X4 xlt and this is my first time working on an a/c system. Trying to get the tube apart with the oriface tube inside. I have the disconnect tool but the line won't budge apart. I sprayed some penetrating oil on the spring lock and hopefully this will help overnight. The spring is opening but it's just not coming apart. ANY IDEAS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED..."IT'S 115 DEGREES HERE AND I NEED THIS THING TO WORK!

Go figure, it's the last thing that always goes south:feedback:

Thanks, Mike

That location on my '94 ex was full of dirt-try cleaning it with compressed air , or even brake cleaner and compressed air. Try twisting the 2 halves while pulling apart. The orings will most likely be hardened anyway, and need to be replaced anytime the lines are separated.

OK, I will try that...just hard to get enthusiasm in this heat:rolleyes:

Sometimes I do miss Michigan:)
