for some reason, its like if i turn the key for a split second too long the starter will make a short grind. If i time my hand right, i can make it not make the noise, but if any other time im just trying to start my truck and go it will make that lil grind... a split second after the motor turns over.

Starter going bad?

Sticky solenoid? Try tapping on it with a large wrench or something.

yeah i wondered if it was one of the solenoids... but its not staying on for a long time, just a split second initally after start-up. I have a replacement fender mount solenoid, i can try that one.

Same thing happens with me. I just assumed it was ford's shotty parts. Maybe not?
