i narrowed my front 44.... in my garage... with a grinder and anglefinder... i have done a few others diff's too... :)

my rear diff is a full width 9" tho... long story.... but you would never tell unless you started pokein around with a tape measure.....

my shock's tip in to the radius arm's about 1.5" so ya i'd say they will werk just fine tipping out 1.5"....

the way the mount's are they wont bind.... and the F250's are the LONGEST shockmount you kin get.

Since I'm leaving mine full width, the shocks should be okay if I get the f250 mounts right?

yes

Alright, I'll start ordering the parts from my list then.

Hotwheels - where do I get those shock mounts from?

Ford Parts Network has the F250 shock towers for 10.04 each. :)

from a local u-pull wrecker... $5ea
or www.bcbroncos.com

as for shock's i am useing off the shelf monroe gas magnum's... they are 13" travel shock's and about 4" shorter then a RS5000.... i bought some 5000's on sale and figured i could use em... WRONG... not enuff lift even with the F250 shock mount's

i am currently waiting on an adjustable trac-bar from www.bcbroncos.com they are .250 wall with a 3/4" heim on one end... BEEFY

i used the 85 chevy blazer TRE's and custom threaded 3/8" wall DOM for my tierod over steering it's a pretty bomb proof setup so keep that in mind before u spend cash on anything steering related..

i see you plan on getting caliper rebuild kit's from broncograveyard? even here in canada the local parts store only charged me $20ea plus core for reman calipers... y screw around? hehehehe

the broncograveyard D44 master rebuild kit is the most compleat kit i have ever seen tho.... thats a deal just in the time it will take runnin around everywhere to find the lil stuff... and dont neglect the inner axle tube seals... while it's all appart is the best time to change em..

Thanks for the info hotwheels! I wasn't really planning on buying the calipers from broncograveyard, I just added it to the "things to get" list. I just used the price from Broncograveyard to get a price estimate. I'll check out that adjustable trac bar from bcbroncos but I highly doubt it'll fit the full width size. If I remember correctly I think the range was 28" to 33". The stock explorer trac bar was 35". the full width bronco trac bar was 36" so I think I'll have to go with that!

I made some changes to my list ( 1st post ).

Why are you adding a BL? With the SAS, you can pretty much choose where the coi buckets are going to be mounted(high or low, etc on the frame) so you can choose how much height you'll have. By finding the right spot on the frame you should be able to find the perfect spot to fit the 36s without having excess lift (higher CoG).

You mean at least a 2" BL isn't necessary to fit 36's and the long f250 shock towers on? I thought some of the other sas'ers put on the BL to fit larger tires? How would I go about finding the right spot on the frame in order to get the required height to fit those tires? Also, what does the 5.5" mean on the wildhorse coil springs? Does it mean it's meant for a 5.5" lift?

The 5.5" coil springs are meant for a 5.5" lift for what they are made for...which in our case would be an Early Bronco. That would be assuming that the Early Bronco owner left the coil buckets in the factory location and didn't move them up or down. You can't assume that a 5.5" lift coil would give you 5.5" of lift on anything other than what they are made to go on.

I read somewhere that the 5.5" wildhorse coils gave the explorers a "higher" lift.

They do. Like I said before, it depends on where the coil buckets are placed, but most of the time, people that run the 5.5" lift coil for early broncos on the Explorer wind up with about 8" of lift(atleast everyone that I've seen use them on Explorers has had atleast that much lift).

And the rear would use blocks under the leafs or the use of shackles to level it out...?

Yes, you can either use shackles, AAL's, or lift blocks (or a combination) to level out the rear. The best option in terms of maximum articulation, would be to either buy a set of Old Man Emu 2" lift springs or have custom springs made to the appropriate specs. :)

Are the Old Man Emu's AAL's or a complete leaf set?

They are a complete leaf set.

OK, I just seen it online. Although, I never seen one for the explorers. do you happen to know the part number?

no go on the bcbronco's eb adjustable bar.... it's even about 2" shorter then i wanted it to be for my narrow D44..... but i got a welder.... i aint scared
