LMAO! I don't think you'd want to know considering dual ARB's. Not to mention how much an SAS costs in the first place. :D

DUAL ARB'S!!!!! Holy schmoly! thats gotta be around 1700!! I was thinking the same thing with the detroit electrac at 800. but I really wanted this locker and I'll pay for a good quality one if need be!!

I really don't wann keep track of how much I spent either but I'm using my fiance's card so I gotta keep tabs!! :thumbdwn:

Well, my electrac came in today...still waiting for the other parts to get in so I can start installing the gears.

Anybody know how to set in the gears? I have a friend that will be able to install them but besides the R&P, the master install kit, an the locker, he also mentioned something about a "set up bearing kit" which fine tunes the shimms very quickly. Anybody know of thiskit and process? If so, how can I get one?

Any place that sells ring and pinions will be able to get you some setup bearings. For that matter, you could take your bearings to a bearing supply store and get a set. You just need some the same o.d. as the ones you use only a little looser on the i.d. so they can slide on instead of being pressed on.

Here's a pic of my Electrac. Can't wait to get them installed.

Before I went with ARB in the front and rear, I debated going with the electrac in the front and a detroit in the rear. Is the diff cover much bigger than stock

Set up bearings is a good idea. It seems like I am doing gears for somebody once a month these days! Just finished 4.56s in my buddies XJ. I didn't think about going to the Bearing store and buying some setup gears. I was thinking about taking my dremmel to the old bearings. Good idea.

I've debated on what locker to put in the front too. I was going over all the selectables: ARB, OX, and Electrac. The thing that sold me on the electrac was that when it's engaged its a full 100% locker; when it's not engaged its a posi carrier or limited slip. :D

The diff cover is exactly the same size (dimension wise). The only thing about it is that the area where the fill plug is, has a external solenoid where it does its engage/disengage. This part sticks out from the side of the diff cover about 3" or so. If you want I could take some pictures of how it'll look when put together.

I was just wondering if it would cause problems with the tierods or trac bar.

It wouldn't come in contact with the tie rod. The external solenoid sticks out no more than the diff cover "bump". What the guys over at DTS told me was that I will have to modify a diff cover guard if anything.

Do you guys know if I could use this on the HP D44 in order to use the stock explorer drive shaft? Its a dana 30/44 pinion yoke 1310 series.

http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-12130_dana_30_44_pinion_yoke__1310_series.htm

And this for the rear ford 9" to match up the stock explorer rear driveshaft? Its a ford 9" pinion yoke 1310 series.

http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-22285_ford_9_inch_billet_steel_pinion_yoke__1310_series_3_5_.htm

or maybe even this: its a 28 spline though, not sure what spline the ford 9" comes with.

Save your money the D44 comes factory as a 1310 and 9" is a 1330 you can get a 1310/1330 ******* u-joint. The f-150 I got my 9" from had a bastartd u-joint from the factory.
There is not much diffrence in strenth between the 1310 and 1330

I thought the stock 78 bronco d44 came with 1350's?

1350's are most commonly found on 1 ton rigs

Oh cool!! So I can re-use the same yoke off the d44! What about changing the 9" to a 1310 yoke instead of going the ******* route? Would the 1310 yoke be a little bit stronger then using a ******* 1330/1310?

What did you end up using?

It depends, Ford started using a few 1330's in 78 and most in 79 on half tons. Its ford so you gotta check to be sure because it seems they just used whatever was laying behind them at the factory. :D

I have a ******* joint at the rear end

ohe boy- are you using the stock bronco radius arms?

if so, what c-shims are you using?
I've been looking and I don't know about what degree to get?!?
http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/c-114

what would be the advantages in using steeper/shallower shims?

I saw somewhere that the 7* bushings are for 4-10(?) inches of lift. I've only seen people on this site use the 7* ones.
