Here's my delemma... And yes I've searched and read other threads ..
Stock 96 exploder, 180,000+ miles maintained well, seafoamed, new plugs, spray cleaned MAF, good fresh premium gas in tank.

Take it for a drive and get it good and hot and randomly it will not crank/fire off/start/run, while turning the key starter engages engine spins over rapidly and shakes and sputters... Only codes I get is evap issues, bank 1&2 lean, miss fire detected.

Only has this symptom once hot..:thumbdwn:

When it acts up hot, open the fuel cap and see if that makes a difference.

What would the fuel cap have to do with it?
As a side note I do get a fuel cap light on dash occasionally ..
Also the o2 sensors look to be the originals..

If the tank is not venting maybe the fuel could not be sucked out of it very good?
I'm sure you changed the fuel filter just to see if that made a diff ,right?

No,I started to change the fuel filter but..my disconnect tool can't fit between the filter housing and the quick connect fitting as the tool seems too wide... Is ford and GM fuel line disconnect tools going to differ?

+1 my old accord uses to do this very randomly. I would drive somewhere, then go to restart and it would just crank and sputter.
Would pop the gas cap for a few seconds and 99% of the time it started after.
Not sure If it was just coincidence or not.

have you checked power to the coil packs?

could be a dead pcm,, on the anti-theft side.

seen a explorer-trac everything worked but no fire from packs
