Everyone, please take your time and stay safe this winter.
I don't care if you have 4x4 and the best winter tires available, slow down and drive carefully.

This happened to me today, I have All Terrain Winter Tires, that didn't make a difference.

Stay safe, driving, cycling, walking, whatever it may be.

At least he committed and didn't just stall out in the middle there! :p:

What sort of video recording setup are you running there?

Just a simple G1W dash cam. Currently plugged into the 12V socket. I've got the wiring adapter to attach it to a fuse, but it's too cold out to put it in right now. :D

4 wheel drive is great for getting going in the snow... Doesn't do a damn thing for stopping. Quick reflexes though. That guy was lucky!

That pedestrian is an idiot...

I would have considered putting it in 2WD and seeing how big of snow rooster tail I could have thrown at him.

Guys, be very careful! Our state has a law that you must stop for all pedestrians in a cross walk whether or not they have a walk light.:eek:

Pedestrians always have the right of way by law.

This could have turned out real bad for all concerned. You should go right out and buy a lottery ticket.

But the jackass was jaywalking. He was crossing on a red light. In Missouri he would get a ticket. Kansas used to right jaywalking tickets.

My mom worked for a local police department from the late 70's until the late 80's. A woman was jaywalking and was hit. The cop wrote here a jaywalking ticket and slapped it on her chest as they were loading her into the ambulance. :D

The video I saw showed a person in a cross walk.

Plainly walking against a red light. He has no cross walk signal. You can see the cross walk signal for the direction DJ is heading.

All I am saying is we all probably need to learn from this. If I was the driver in that vehicle I can't say I would have done anything differently, until seeing this.

Stupid people are protected, and now I know if someone is stupid enough to be walking in that kind of weather I better be looking out for him to try to sue me.

Had a group of high school kids do this to me today, my green light no traffic and they just ran out in front of me as I entered the intersection. I'm usually more worried about other drivers

I was so thankful my front tires gripped in that enough to pull me left, otherwise, I'd be washing blood off them.
