steering lock

Yesterday i was cleaning my steering wheel and rotating it when it suddenly locked into position. I didn't think much of it until i tried to start the car an hour later and couldn't turn the key in the ignition. The wheel is about 180 degrees from its usual position and wont budge ...any suggestions?

You're gonna have to get the wheel back into a position where the ignition switch will turn. Just turn it back and forth until it moves enough for the key to work. It will work, trust me.

You need to turn the wheel in the same direction that you were turning it when it locked. While trying to turn it, the key lock should release and you should be able to turn the key.
