I am putting the steering wheel from my 98 eb into my 98 mounty, the mounty steering wheel was flimsy trash. I only want the cruise control, I don't want to mess around with environmental controls or radio controls

I started splicing the wires and I realized I had an extra black from on the steering colum side and an extra gray-red and an extra yellow from the clock spring.

What do I do with these wires? Does the black splice to anything, what about all the wires that do match up, was I right to splice color to color?

Well, I capped off the extra wires and put everything back together and cruise control worked. I guess those are for the radio/ environmental controls... Anyway, if anyone can tell me what the wires do I am still curious. Also is there any way to verify that the air bag system is still functioning correctly without setting it off? I don't want to find out that i screwed up the air bag system if I actually end up needing it.
