look on the right and left edges of the radio there should be 2 little holes on each side.
you can use a hanger but its easier if u spend like 4 bux at autozone and get the little clip things to remove them. u just insert them in and pull towards the doors and itll slide out
those are one of the things I've hated about fords stereo's, makes them way to easy to steal, but I guess at least if they're going to steal it they won't do much damage
Of you could just unscrew the whole bazel(sp) < the frame around the head unit. There are two screws right above the heat controls. Take them out then the whole thing will slide out. Then you just have to unhook the wires from the different options like the 4 wheel drive switch. Most have screws in the back of them and the whole thing pops off button and all.

Yeah, if you are installing a new head unit and speakers/amps, you will need to take that part off anyway. You really can just use coat hangers but I've used the official tool and a hanger, the hanger is not as easy but it works.
Do we really need a how-to? Spend the $4 for the tool at any AutoZone, push the pins in until they click, pry them apart, then slide it out of the chassis. It's not difficult.
