Hey everyone. Working on my 2004 Sport Trac. Today I was going to install a radio head unit. I got one free out of a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer. I opened up the plastic cover on the front of the truck and was surprised to see that the original owner of this truck hacked up the wiring harness. I went back to the Mercury and cut out all of the factory connectors thinking I could perhaps rewire the thing, but it is turning out to be a little bit beyond my capabilities. None of the wire colours correspond, and the best I can do is get the Merc radio to give me time and radio station readings, no sound whatsoever. Please help me.
The radio I'm trying to install is a factory Ford unit yl2f-18c868-ca.
Attached are photos of what I'm dealing with. Would be great to get some experts to troubleshoot with me.
