Hi all,

I hope I'm in the right place for a quick question. I'm installing a new CD/DVD in dash unit (my first time) and the unit has a wire colored white/brown for "Reverse" or Reverse Lamp ground. However, my wiring harness for my 2001 Explorer does not have this but does have "dimmer ground" and "illuminate" orange black and orange; respectively (where the unit does not have these orange wires). Could someone help here? Do I need to hook up that wire for reverse?

Thank you in advance. I'm excited to get this installed, just want to do it right.

you're going to have to RUN a wire from the reverse lamps probably

Okay, sounds like the White/Brown wire for reverse on the HU is for a rear camera (which I don't have; so look out!). That way the video shows on the display when the truck is put in reverse.

Off to fire it up and see what happens. Thanks for your reply.

I'm trying to find the parking brake wire from the truck, does anyone know where it is? I need to hook the dvd player to it so we can watch movies in park...please help.
