I have 57K on my 05 with stability control. I recently noticed what seems to be Sticky Steering, meaning the steering wheel does not like to return back without some assistance in certain cases. I did a test and noticed this with the stability control both off and on. The condition seems to be worse when making shorter turns versus longer gradual turns at stop lights, in the parking garage, etc.

I can also 'feel' a small clunk sometimes in the steering wheel when going over small bumps in the road.

Question is (should have reviewed before posting): Is this a tie rod, bearing, ball joint? Any advice at what to look at is appreciated.

I have an E350 with same problem. I have changed the ball joints, bearings, tie rod ends, sector shaft, drag link, Steering gear box, all my bushings, shock absorbers and..... added additional caster to the alignment from 2.7 to 4.1 degrees. NOT FIXED. Not sure what to do next. I'll be looking for your solution or post mine if I find it.
