so my 94 ex was running well, all systems go for almost a month. I knew it wouldn't last.
ran her through the car wash, no problem.
on the way home, CEL flashes on, stays on for a few seconds, then goes out.
It did that twice on the way home.
drove it over the next several days, no issues.
Monday, in a mix on rain then snow, drove it to work.
CEL flashes 3 times when I start it up. runs like crap for the first couple miles, light flashes on and off a few times finally straightens out and runs ok.
Since then every time I start it the CEL flashes 3 times and it runs like crap.
Pulled the codes and got the following 116, 114 and then after a few seconds 172. With the engine running, it only gives the 172 code.

I know I can decipher the codes, but I dont get the 3 flashes when I start it. Is this something they are known to do?

Any help much appreciated.

It's the temp sensor for the PCM

The one "near" The housing for the PCM looks like this.

It is a bad Temp sensor.

Been here, done that already on the 94.

There are (2) sensors, so make sure you change the one that has a cone on the end of it, next to the thermostat housing.
