I have a strange issue when I go to use my remote door unlock it unlocks the door but at the same time the power seat then moves up as far as it can go? I then have to get in and move the power seat back? Any idea what may be the issue or what I should be looking at? This is a 2003 Explorer Eddie Bauer by the way.

you can program the seat, and pedal position for two drivers and to match your remotes. Handy If you have two driver's and two remotes. Check your manual on how to program it for your preferences.

I dont think it is a programming issue but a some sort of electrical problem as when you use the remote to unlock the power seats then moves.

From what you said thats working correctly. When you use the remote it will move the seat to the Set position (which seems to be all the way forward in this case) of that remote.

Try adjusting the seat then hit the memory button, then 1or2, then any key on the fob. Now when you unlock the seat should match what ever the fob is set for.

As another idea there is something in the message center called 'Easy Access' which when you unlock the door the seat moves back . . . .

thanks will check this out tonight when i get home.

So is the car suppose to revert to a memory setting when you click you unlock the door with the remote?

Here's what the manual says:

Memory seat feature (if equipped)

The remote entry system can also
control the memory seat feature.

press the control once to unlock the
driver's door and move the memory
seat feature to the corresponding
memory position, just as if you had
pressed the memory control in the
vehicle.

Activating the memory seat feature
To activate this feature:

1. Position the seat to the position you desire.

2. Press the SET control on the driver's door panel.

3. Within 5 five seconds, press one control on the remote transmitter and
then press the 1 or 2 button on the driver's door panel to which you
would like to associate with the seat and Driver 1 or Driver 2 positions.

4. Repeat this procedure for another remote transmitter if desired.

Deactivating the memory seat feature

To deactivate this feature:

1. Press the SET control on the driver's door panel.

2. Within 5 five seconds, press one control on the remote transmitter
which you would like to deactivate and then press the SET control on
the driver's door panel.

3. Repeat this procedure for another remote transmitter if desired.

On my 03, the seat slides back when I remove the ignition key and returns to previous location when I reinsert it. AFAIK the memory button on mine is the only thing that can access the memory seat position.

If it's the entry/exit feature, you can disable it through the onboard, instructions somewhere in the manual. However, if it's moving in relation to the lock module, sounds like an electrical problem to me. Check for pinched harness under the seat, between door frame or near fuse block.
