2001 ford explore xlt
Hey everyone so I have a question,
I've had this 2001 ford explore xlt for about a couple months now, and at first it would start up fine and great.
But one morning driving from one part of work to the next the pervious night .Ok tried to start it up and it wouldn't start her up but she wouldn't start, and the battery was drained so I had friends juice her up a still nothing, I went over every part of her and still nothing, but it got me to thinking bout the last time I had the cracked head gasket so I put some head gasket sealant threw the radiator and it was done after that.
But then I noticed checking the engine that it's been having some brown stuff around it.
Can anyone bring up a theory for me?
Thank you.

What engine do you have?

Is the starter not turning the engine over when you turn the key, or is the engine not starting, despite turning over?

Are you certain you had a good charge or the jumper cables connected correctly?

Head gaskets don't drain your battery. Generally with a bad head gasket, you will end up with coolant in your oil, oil in your coolant or lots of white smoke when your truck is running. Your problem sounds electrical in nature, so let's start from there.

The best thing to do is to disconnect the battery and charge it, then test it.

Its a v6, and the battery was new but I had it recharged just incase a cell died in it. The starters new an it sounds like it wants to turn but won't. The jumper chalet are correct red on red black on black, so will it be something of the main computer for it to not start?

So the starter "clicks" but won't turn?

I don't think so, but I put it in after I had the problem. And I had a guy come to look at it and it said that the problem might be the cylinders or head gasket is either cracked or broken. Thats what I think the brown stuff from on top is
. But I don't know does seem like somethings stopping the computer inside to match the tempo of the engine or something.

Tap the starter with a hammer/pipe/tire iron and it should get it to start. Mine just did that. If it does start replace the starter and it should fix your problem.

Ok, so is the engine turning over or not?

When you turn the key, does it do this?

or does it just click?

Brown stuff? Can you take a picture? You can host pictures online for free on several sites such as photobucket.
