I had a broken solinoid screw on a starter that was way past its prime, so I pulled out the starter and bought a new one. Install not a problem, but I had two questions:
1) I forgot which screw goes on top and bottom (I am 41 so the memory is going). I am assuming that the wire nut goes on the bottom hole of the starter. If this is the case the upper bolt is not grabbing and it is fully entered.
2) Can the solinoid screw be replaced?
Truck starts but I am concerned about the upper bolt. Should I add treadlock?
