I have a single pioneer 10 in a 99 explorer. Well today i opend the tailgate to listen to the sub and the sub started farting and distorting. When i closed the hatch the problem went away. does the pressure inside the car keep the sub from distorting under normal use? Seems strange i always heard subs were louder with the windows down but its the oposite in my case.

btw its off 300 watts.

if you closed the door and it went away, i would assume the sub isnt damaged at all... that thhere was so much output that it made your panels in the door vibrate.. and since its a sub, produed so much bass that you couldnt tell where the noise was coming from
