Subwoofers won't work, but all connections good...

Yeah, i mean youd probably (if its a name brand expensive amp...RF...YES) pay out the ass to get it fixed or for them to tell you its toast, you might as well just go invest in a new one theres a couple years at least lmao jkjk hopefully more than that

Ha, yeah, I got it in January of 06 actually, so not too bad I guess. My next question then is what kind of amp should I be looking for if I'm looking for an amp that can power two RF T210D2s at 800W 1ohm per woofer (aka 1600W total) I've pretty much lost all faith in RF, this is the second amp I've blown of theirs, so I need a brand who is reliable, ya know?

Yeah, my dad had an RF amp, thats one of the first amps i messed with, so i ended up liking RF alot, but then realized how many brands theyre actually were, and kinda moved on from them, they have great subs though.

I have my Hifonics Brutus, and i know about 4 other people who have Hifonics amps, everyone who doesnt have one, says theyre way over-rated, but mines 1600 watts, pushing TWO 15" Kicker L7's and its made my cargo/dome light fall off, rattled the hatch handle off, i had to re-tighten the screws on my roof-mounted monitor, and its ridiculous, if i had to suggest, id say go with Hifonics, or give them a shot, i have a Brutus, hoping to upgrade to theyre (not sure what its called) 6000 watt rms amp, mine (1600w) has hit 3600 peak, plus they look awesome, mines never went into protect mode either, it stays pretty cool to the touch, and is all illuminated my Blue LEDs

So another issue that I've noticed, can't really even try to work on it until tomorrow afternoon, is that my right rear speaker, and my front left speaker, are playing music, but the volume is much lower than my other two speakers. Any thoughts as to why this would be happening?

Are you using the stock amp in the truck?
(Not sure if it has one?)

Or are your speakers straight to the stereo

I have a Phoenix Gold 4 Channel Amp (only 2 months old) I was just playing around some more and found that when the volume is turned to max, both left speakers play music both distorted as hell, but at my normal volume, they barely play at all. Also when I did that, the subs started burping, but that was only at max volume, which I've seen before in a home audio amp I have, so the amp is 100% kaput. As for the speakers, I've started another thread, but am not getting much help there either. The wires are all perfectly fine, so I have no clue wtf is going on at all now.

Hmm might be a blown knob, i know ive seen those knobs before like get staticky, like when you adjust them then itl be like real loud, or quiet, who knows, mess with the knob with the music on see if it works better adjusting it back and fourth

Well I got my HiFonics Brutus 2008DXi yesterday and installed it, and sure enough, subs are thumpin like champs again. Sucks that my RF blew a channel, but oh well, I guess. I'm still gonna try and find someone to take a look at it for me and try to find out wtf happened to it, though. I opened it up and there are no burn marks or anything else out of the ordinary, so who knows. I'll try to get some pics up of the new amp sometime, it's mighty slick looking with all the purty LEDs on it :D In the process of returning my Phoenix Gold amp right now, it's still under warranty, so I've got my old RF P3001 running my mids/highs, but meh. Hopefully get the new amp within a couple weeks and everything will be back to the way it was supposed to be, being so loud that everyone looks at me all angry about it, hehe.

Yeah man the hifonics amps look great, specially in SUVs lol mine lights up the back a nice blue glow lol

sorry but i have a problem i was hoping you could help me. i installed my subs in my 93 explorer and after i got it all wired i turn the key and i got a constant thump for the subs thats it none of the rest. i double checked my wires and fuses and dont know what it is.

Is this at all volumes? What type of amp are you running and how old is it? Also, by a 'constant thump' do you mean that it's not following the music at all, as in it's just randomly hitting?

im running a 400 watt amp not sure what kind and 2 10in subs. and the constant thump is like a steady beat that does it as long as the amp is on

even if the head unit it off it still does it

Hmm, now that I haven't ever heard of honestly. When the HU is off, it should turn off the amp as well, through the remote wire, so if the amp is still going, then the remote wire is suspect in my mind. I don't think that would cause the subs to freak out though, so I'm racking my brain to try and figure out what's happening. Give me some time and I'll think on it. I can tell you this though, the power wire, as well as the fuses, sound perfectly fine to me, due to the amp turning on, so I personally rule them out. If you know anyone else that has an amp, or you have an extra one lying around, try hooking the subs to that other amp. I know it's a pain, but thats how I figured out that my amp was blown, by connecting the woofers to another amp.

well the same system is was in my eclipse and i had no problem out of it til i put it in my 93 explorer. the weird thing about the 93 wiring harnest is that there isnt a power wire but the remote and power are the same wire and the memory wire keeps it stored.

Well, that right there is an issue within itself. The remote wire and power wire cannot be the same, or else the amp will always remain and drain the battery. I don't know where you got your wiring harness, but I suggest running to Wal-Mart and getting a Scosche wiring harness, that's where I got mine. I'd be amazed if they didn't have it. They have the years/makes/models written on the back of the packaging so you can't go wrong (unless you read it wrong :p:) I've also never even heard of a memory wire, so I'm not sure what you're talking about with that.

well the dude i bought it from hard cut the factory wire end off for the harnesswith the power ground and what not
i went and found it in the glove box and heres what the end says

it has al of these wires
mute
radio ground
radio display
panel illumination
radio power feed
vehicle chassic ground
memory feed

all these tell me what color is which

it confused me and i got it to work after a long time thinking

what do you think man

on the head unit it has the remote wire ground and power wire i think thats it. not sure. but i got the remote and power connected to the radio power feed and it seems to work. except it has like to much power going to it and i have to kill it after i turn off the car by hitting the off switch or like a switch on the car that takes power witch i use the power bottom. its weird and if you could help dude i would like that.

Well, here is a list of the wires with labels on my harness for my old HU:

Blue: Remote B+ (turns on amp when HU turns on)
Yellow: Backup (this goes through the stock harness to a 12V+ source)
Red: ACC +B (this goes to the ignition wiring system, allowing the HU to turn on without the car being on)
Black: Ground (grounds the HU to the frame, allowing circuit operation)
Orange: Dimmer (allows the dim function on HUs to operate)
Blue/Red: Power Antenna (this allows the power antenna, if installed, to operate
Pink: Tele Mute (utilizes the telephone mute feature in higher end vehicles)
Violet: Rear R+ (positive input for rear right speaker)
Violet/Black: Rear R- (negative input for rear right speaker)
Green: Rear L+ (positive input for front left speaker)
Green/Black: Rear L- (negative input for front left speaker)
Gray: Front R+ (positive input for rear right speaker)
Gray/Black: Front R- (negative input for rear right speaker)
White: Front L+ (positive input for front left speaker)
White/Black: Front L- (negative input for front left speaker)

You will also have your pre-outs as well as your antenna input on the rear of the HU.

I don't know much about stock harnesses, due to my having always used aftermarket, but I've never heard of this 'memory feed' wire at all, ever. The other wires are self explanatory, but that one, no clue. You may want to talk to the guy who you bought the truck from or even try searching google for some answers. This is starting to appear as though it's out of my element. I'll keep trying to think of what's going on though.
