I have a 97 aerostar 4.0 with 230000 on original engine. Just recently replaced new heads, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter maf sensor, motorcraft coil pack, mororcraft plug wires, new rebuilt tork converter, new transmission, egr valve and whatever else did not solve the problem. The problem is a surge at about 35 to 45 mph. Nothing has solved the problem. Also replaced the cat just for drill. Nothing has changed the surging. Any ideas? Aerostar bum

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the Aerostar section. Check the TPS, IAC, O2 sensor, DPFE sensor, and the vacuum lines. Do you have a check engine light? Did you scan the PCM for stored codes?

No codes were found in pcm. Also replaced o2 sensors. Have not replaced dpfe sensor. Where is it located on 97 aerostar? Appreciate the help.
